MudMap Studio is working closely with the consultant team and Chinatown stakeholders to develop a public art and interpretation strategy for the Chinatown Revitalisation Project.

The strategy outlines possible locations and themes for public artwork and interpretation to be implemented throughout the revitalisation. The vision for this project is to use public art and interpretation to acknowledge Traditional Owners and other cultural groups that established Chinatown, as well as to capture key historical and cultural stories.

MudMap Studio’s role has included historical and cultural research, mapping and facilitating workshops/engagement sessions. Currently, this project is in the art implementation phase. MudMap Studio is working with artists and local community to deliver a number of interpretation and art items throughout Chinatown.
